During the event we will be holding a Beginners Harmonica Workshop that will be open to all ages. This workshop will be conducted by Carlos “Breeze” Capote!
Originally from south FL, ‘Breeze’ grew up musically in the Atlanta blues scene and many locals still remember his first performances ever. That was a few years ago. Since then, his talent and reputation have grown far and fast. Blues fans everywhere have taken notice of his exciting harp style and passionate, natural vocals. Carlos has played with other local blues icons such as Mudcat, Slim Fatz, Shelton Powe, Smokestack Lightnin’, Johnny Knox, Rough Draft, the Porkbellys and many blues legends from the Music Maker Relief Foundation.
Carlos is also the musical director for the Atlanta Blues Society’s “Blues In The Schools” program. These programs are intended primarily for Atlanta area schools but are available to all community groups. The goal is to educate, enlighten and entertain students of all ages about the history, tradition, and cultural impact of American blues music through a presentation combining both live music and lecture. Check out www.atlantabluessociety.org for more information.
There will be Demonstration and lessons in “Blues Dancing” in the event tent. For those who want to experience the show and use what they learned, there will be a Dance Floor set aside for Dancers both experienced and new to the art form.
